Appointment Types

We offer a number of different types of appointment, to try and suit different patients and illnesses and to try and give as many options for patients as possible.  We appreciate this can sometimes be quite confusing for patients so here is information about what we offer.

Doctor Appointments
  • Book Ahead
    • Available to book usually from about 10 weeks ahead of the day
    • Useful for booking a review appointment for a future date for an ongoing issue
  • Same Day Appointments
    • Requests for same day appointments should be made by completing an online consultation via https://stonehavenmedicalgroup.webgp.com
    • Our clinical team will triage these requests and you will receive a prompt response from the surgery
    • Useful for short notice illnesses like infections, or illnesses that it wouldn't be appropriate to wait for a couple of a weeks to get seen eg severe pain, new onset shortness of breath
    • If you are unable to access the online system please contact the surgery on 0345 337 1160 and one of our admin team will assist you
  • Duty doctor
    • If there are no appointments and you feel it urgently needs dealt with today, or you require a home visit, it will be passed to our duty doctor
    • If you think you might require a home visit - please try and phone by 1000 so that we can allocate a doctor to see you, usually over lunchtime
    • Only available on the day
    • Useful for urgent problems eg severe pain, shortness of breath when no appointments are left, or home visits
  • Telephone Consultations
