Staff Training

We also close for staff training on certain dates throughout the year. Cover is usually provided by GMEDs

Future dates will be added once known

The out-of-hours emergency service is provided by NHS 24 and GMED and can be contacted on 111 – this is a freephone number for both landlines and mobile phones.  NHS 24 along with GMEDS cover out of hours when our surgery is shut.

Staff there will do one of the following:

  • Arrange advice from a doctor or nurse
  • Invite you to attend the out-of-hours centre to be seen by a doctor
  • Arrange a home visit if you are too ill to attend the centre.

If you require a repeat prescription, routine appointment or your call does not require immediate attention please contact the surgery during normal working hours. Alternatively you can submit an eConsult which will be responded to when the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath are examples of what constitutes an emergency.
