{"id":36,"date":"2014-07-10T19:47:35","date_gmt":"2014-07-10T18:47:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/drbarnard.genpra.net\/?page_id=36"},"modified":"2020-07-05T12:38:39","modified_gmt":"2020-07-05T11:38:39","slug":"out-of-hours-emergency","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.stonehavenmedicalgroup.scot.nhs.uk\/about-us\/contact\/opening-hours\/out-of-hours-emergency\/","title":{"rendered":"What to do when we are closed"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When we are closed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Between 18:00\u00a0and 08.00 Monday to Thursday and 18:00 on\u00a0Friday until\u00a008:00 on\u00a0Monday the surgery is closed.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why not try our online consultation and advice service<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This service can provide self help advice as well as offer you the chance to submit an online consultation with your GP. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"https:\/\/stonehavenmedicalgroup.webgp.com\/\">Access eConsult<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Out of Hours Emergencies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The out-of-hours emergency service is provided by\u00a0<strong>NHS 24<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>GMED<\/strong>\u00a0and can be contacted on\u00a0<strong>111 &#8211; this is a freephone number for both landlines and mobile phones.\u00a0NHS 24 along with GMEDS cover out of hours when our surgery is shut.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>This service is for emergencies<\/li><li>It should not be used instead of a day time appointment<\/li><li>All calls are monitored and will be reviewed by our Doctors<\/li><li>Remember the Out of Hours Service is for urgent problems only. Please do not contact the service for a second opinion or for anything which can wait until the next working day.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A receptionist in the emergency call centre will answer your call and either:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Arrange advice from a doctor or nurse<\/li><li>Invite you to attend the centre to be seen by a doctor<\/li><li>Arrange a home visit if you are too ill to visit the centre.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and \/ or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mental health crisis or emergency ?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You should call 999 or go to A&amp;E if you, or someone you know, experiences a life-threatening medical or mental health emergency. These are cases where there is immediate danger to life or physical injury. A mental health emergency should be taken as seriously as a medical emergency.
